Today, I woke up at 7 and headed to the Airport. Said goodbye to the parents and was off.
Ended up missing my first flight by literally a minute, but got on a later one and had to run through the airport in Houston to make the connecting flight, which I did!
Arrived in San Jose only to find that they forgot my bag. I hope its not lost. Met up with the taxi driver and waited with him for half hour for another student who was lost, but we finally found her and all was well after that.
San Ramón is different than I thought. A lot bigger. We passed a bike shop and then a couple blocks later, arrived at my homestay so that is pretty cool! Ana is my new mother for the next four months and I am very excited. She lives alone in a nice cozy house with beautiful tile everywhere. I will post more pictures when it is light out, but below is my room!
Ana took me in instantly and fed me some really good veggies and chicken over noodles. Tomorrow we will eat more traditional Costa Rican food--rice and beans. I was surprised at how much we could communicate with each other. She even told me that I was better than some of the kids shes had before!
All in all it was a pretty tiring day, but I AM HERE! For the next four months. It is still surreal to me, but I cannot wait to explore this city and learn the language and culture.
